Vintage Turbo Flyer – Captain & Pilot X Tait Design Co.

USA Made

Any person who ever constructed a paper airplane as a child (or as an adult; no judgments here) simply must test the air with the Vintage Turbo Flyer ($22.00), a gliding goodie designed cooperatively by Pilot & Captain and Tait Design Company. You might remember our Day In the Life campaign with Tait Design from a little while back, in which we were fortunate enough to learn about the driving inspirations for small American businesses, as well as the fun that comes with envisioning, making, and playing with turbo flyers. Well, by the generosity of the company’s pilot, Matthew Tait, we’ve been given the scoop on this latest release, the Vintage Turbo. Deemed a “top secret” project, Tait teamed up with the super talented designers and Pilot & Captain founders, Dustin Summers and Jason Kernevich, to present a limited edition flyer. This, obviously, resulted in model-flyer magic, which includes Tait’s classic balsa model as equipped with a stunning artistic upgrade conceived by Summers and Kernevich. The Vintage Turbo’s paint job is inspired by a mix of aerodynamics and graphics from civilian and military aircraft from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s, and it is the first multi-colored plane Tait has ever delivered. Bold, right? Right. Just check out the metallic silver and army green, and picture them in a cruising blur up above you, swooshing with a grace unseen in the flyer world. And remember, get yours quickly, because these are limited editions available now on both companies’ websites.
